Poetic Philosophical Prose…Why?
I chose this (and many other topics) because I always have so much stuff dancing around in my head,
The thought occured, why not? Why not write about all the junk that drives a person crazy sometimes.
And share the stuff you know about or ask about stuff you don’t.
This blog section is meant for the fluff, the deep meaning things that sometimes don’t make sense to even me.
We’ll see how that goes…
Enclosed is an earlier post I could not figure out to edit…sheesh this thing is confusing to learn.
Excuse my newborn bloggedness, I just cracked open my shell last month. Couldn’t figure how to get things done right.

Experience Time: My Philosophical Moment
As time is used up for our lives and we come closer to the end of our mortality, we ponder more about the way we’ve spent our lives. Our mortality becomes defined by moments in time. That is why having photographs is so precious to us. How we have spent our time on this earth is measured by us daily, minute by minute.
Question is…are we wasting our precious time here or are we, as it was once said by someone, “Living life to the fullest”? Are we using our full potential? Have we achieved the success that we should have? Does that mean we achieve success and measure ourselves by what we have? What does that really mean? I don’t think living life to the fulllest means that. I believe it means giving it all you have to give, for whatever amount you possess to give. It is not about money. It is not about the things you own, or the places you have gone, or all the friends you have. It is about the time you have spent here that God graced you with…How will you spend it.
Time on earth, the average lifespan….is a gift. THE most precious gift. Sharing that gift to others of oneself, sharing your time here and cherishing all that surrounds you IS what binds the time you spend during your mortality. Did you ever plant a plant/a tree, nurture it from a seedling…you care for it until it became strong, the hurried pace of life took you away from it’s care and then one day you find yourself wondering what ever happened to it? Did you go back and look at it to see if it was still there? If it was still there, were you amazed by how much it had grown since you left it? Did you feel a sense of kinship with that plant? Did you feel a sense of pride within yourself, saying, ‘Yeah, I did that…’ ?
Each day… 24 hours, 1440 minutes, 86,400 seconds….we are given this time, freely as a gift. No matter how we spend it, is ours to use as we choose. Imagine having a timeline in which someone tells you, you have 6 months to live, what would you do? Would you waste it in the same way you did or would you savor what you have left and do what your soul wants to do? Suddenly, you would see things in a different perspective, change what you are doing, saying, and feeling. Your sense of life would become more alive because you know you have very little of it left.
Truth is, we all have a timeline, either today, tomorrow, or the next day, the next year, 10 years from now, or 10 minutes from now. NOW IS THE TIME. For everything that you have to give and experience.
As we spend our time, as humans, thinking we are granted so many gifts, we usually choose to waste most of it by acting like the squirrels saving up nuts and seeds for the coming winter. We gather and gather at a hurried pace or a lazy complacent pace that when our lives end, there is nothing but memories with others left behind of how we spent our time here. Yes, we need to have reserve, but if you notice, most things don’t last much beyond our own lifetimes, after we are gone, it never has the same value as it had when we achieved it. I have pondered these thoughts many times in my lifetime. I have wondered, not regretted, if I only spent my time better, would it be better? The answer is NO. The time was spent, has it’s own memories, and makes up who you have become. The journey is the only thing that matters. I have only one regret in the lifetime that I have spent thus far: That I didn’t realize this earlier so to focus on this principle and use it.
If you are a believer in religion, a spiritual part of you tells you this. If you are not a believer in religion, the natural part of your being tells you this. No matter what your belief is, we all have a journey here, no matter how big, no matter how small, we all have a common meaning for being here. We spend a lot of our lives seeking truths and meaning through the insights and wisdom of those who are skilled orators or skilled writers. All the while, we spend that time not realizing that the true meaning in life is at our feet, our walk through life is the most vital thing. Many learn this at a young age and live lives much like the woman(the old woman) character in the movie, ‘Titanic’, where she was told by her lover to savor what she had, and she did…to the fullest.
For those of priveledge, this principle is easily afforded since many things most of us wish to experience, cost a great deal of money. That would work if you had a bankroll to start with, like going into a Casino with a wadfull of cash with the expectancy of gaining more. Problem is, when you step into the Casino, the games are set up to take your money, not to give it. So how do you gain when you have no bankroll to start with? Realizing that the journey is about experiencing it, not buying it.
In the monetary sense, some of the most cash poor people I know are some of the richest because they have been taken to the limits of their monetary existance, left with nothing but their lives to live and are grateful for all they have, even if it seems like so very little because they EXPERIENCE life as it surrounds them. Like suffering some kind of catastrophic illness, when you get well enough to physically feel you are getting better, you are so much more grateful for what you have already experienced and look forward to enjoying every moment from then on.
God has provided us with the ability to EXPERIENCE the journey. All we have to do is take it in for whatever it is, at that moment in time when we are aware of it’s awesomeness. With that, you are left with a sense of wonder, a sense of belonging in the balance of life, a wellspring of joy that comes from within. If your mind can capture that moment and take it to the next one and the next one, imagine how full you would be. And to share this with others, duplicates the experience into their lives as well.
YOU HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE AND YOU HAVE ALL YOU NEED. All you have left is what you make of it with the knowledge you have come to know and with the knowledge you will learn. It is not all learned in an educational setting, that only gives you a base for learning…real learning comes with living life. There is a reason why babies are babies until they can fly from the nest. It is a shame to think that you would stop learning once you are done with having the knowledge. Education is really about your life experience.
Ever watch a bird soar on rifts of warm air? Not a care or worry in the world.
We are meant to soar in the sky like the eagles do.
